Just Another Day In Paradise (open)

Yawning widely, Payton plopped down on the couch in her office. She had had a pretty long and stressful day. Apparently, her cousin, Zachary, was to move in with her. She didn't mind, of course: they had been best friends growing up and had even been born on the exact same day.

She was about to drift off to sleep when she heard a disgruntled 'meow' and opened her eyes just in time to see Simba, her kitten, jump up in her lap. His fur was standing up and he did not look happy at all.

"What's the matter, Sim?" she asked him. He meowed angrily in response and she just shook her head and rolled her eyes. "I'm not even gonna bother."

Payton picked up her wand, and with a wave, closed the blinds on the window before closing her eyes and absent-mindedly petted Simba, on the verge of falling asleep.
