Willow was out on her own, not something that happened often, willingly leaving the house without the company of someone wasn't something she enjoyed doing, but she wanted to get her sister a 'congratulations' present, and she didn't want anyone to know.

But now she was taking a break in the cafe with a milkshake, staring out the window gloomily. She was a terrible shopper. She only ever went to the bookstore. And she didn't know if she was supposed to get something baby related or not. Coming on her own had not been a good idea. The whole trip was disastrous. She just wanted to go home, but she didn't want to go home empty handed.

Lucy had decided she was worth a big lush chocolate cake, with the chocolate melting over the cream and strawberries on the side. Mmm, yes she definitely was deserved this cake.

Now she just needed to find a good table where she could ravish her amazing cake. She made her way through the cafe looking for a good table when something - someone - caught her attention.

"Willow?" she stopped in front of the girl, raising her eyebrows. It was rather unusual to see Willow out, especially alone, actually if she thought about it Lucy barely saw her neighbour at all.

Willow jumped out her skin as she heard someone mention her name, looking up to see a familiar girl next to her. Her neighbour, Lucy. From what she remembered they hadn't really talked much over the years, there was an age gap, but she knew Lucy was familiar with her other siblings. She gave a slightly nervous smile, giving a tiny wave in greeting.

"Hello Lucy," she wrapped her hands round her glass, glancing away awkwardly, trying to think of something to say. "I-er-I didn't expect to see you here," she hadn't really expected to see herself here more like. "Were you, do you want to sit with me?" she asked, stammering slightly, cursing her inability to socialise properly. It wasn't her fault. New people made her nervous. Especially when they were older than her.

"I'd love to sit with you." Lucy replied, a smile tugging at her lips as she placed her chocolate cake down on the table and then sat down.

"I think this is the first time I've seen you outside by yourself, Willow." she commented, blunt as always. "What are you doing here by yourself, aren't you a bit too young?" And bit too Willow-ish? Shy? Scared of the outside? Kind of like Matthew?

Lucy suppressed a chuckle at her own thoughts by stuffing her mouth full with cake. Groaning in pleasure, she licked her fork. "That is some effing good cake! How is your milkshake?" she was pretty sure she was going to give the younger girl a heart attack with all this talking, but what was the fun of sitting around doing nothing in the company of others?

Willows eyes honed in on the chocolate cake as Lucy placed it on the table, impressed by the sheer size of it. But she looked back up at the girl as she started talking again.

"I don't usually go out on my own, no," she replied. "But I've been trying to find a present for Mel. It's...not going very well," Willow grimaced as she admitted it. "What are you doing here?"

She smiled as Lucy ate her cake and asked about Willow's milkshake, feeling herself relax slightly. "It's very nice. I really like the milkshake here. I don't think I've ever had the cake. It's certainly very big," she pushed her drink forward, unsure if she was supposed to offer some or not. Maybe that was why Lucy asked. "Do you want to try it?"

Lucy swallowed. "Merlin, this is so good Willow, can I marry a cake?" she groaned, taking another bite from her cake and licking her lips.

"Why are you getting Mel a present? Oh, right, the baby. Forgot that." she grimaced slightly. "Babies are a bit creepy. But you shouldn't tell her that, or give her a creepy gift. Maybe you should give her something for the baby." she nodded to herself. "Nothing creepy though, little babies don't like creepy things." she added.

Eying Willow's drink, Lucy smiled. "You're such a sweetheart, that doesn't really run in your family does it?" she pushed her cake towards the girl, with her finger. "One sip for a bite?"

Willow couldn't help but giggle, shaking her head at the question. "I don't think I've ever heard of marrying a cake. You could be the first. It would be a short marriage though," she pointed out, wondering just how long the cake was going to last.

"I wasn't sure if I was supposed to get something for her or the baby," Willow explained, though she couldn't help but smile at Lucy's description of babies. "I've been trying to look, but I don't think I'm going to the right shops. I wanted to get it on my own, but I think I should've asked someone for help..." who was a mystery. She couldn't imagine they'd be much help.

She nodded at the suggestion of a trade, cheeks warming at the compliment, picking up a spare fork from the table and taking a small piece of the cake, eyes lighting up as she ate it. It really was a nice cake. "It's really good," she agreed, licking the crumbs off the fork and putting it down. "I wonder if their other deserts are that good."

Lucy leaned back, deep in thought. What does one get a pregnant person? Condoms? Hehe. "You should get her something pretty, they don't know the gender yet do they?" she crossed her legs. "You could get her shoes. That's like every girl's dream I think. But those are expensive. What about... a sock? No, a bib? Many socks?"

Lucy brought the drink to her lips and took a sip. It was good. Really, really good. So, she took another one, and another one and finally a one more before she forced herself to put it down. She looked with a sheepish smile at Willow. "I'm sorry, I got distracted." Lucy pushed the milkshake back towards the younger girl. "I think there's something left!"

Willow shook her head as Lucy mentioned them not knowing the gender. She wasn't sure she wanted to know, personally. She thought it would be a nice surprise. But shoes were expensive, and probably gender specific. Bibs weren't. Something like that. "I suppose, a bib would be good, I'd feel like I wasn't giving something good enough, but it's practical, and they'll need it," she nodded. "I think it would be better to get something practical than a toy, right?"

When Lucy began to take more than one sip of the milkshake, Willow wondered if that meant she was allowed more than one bite of the cake. She hadn't decided by the time Lucy gave her drink back though, so she accepted it back with a smile, slightly disappointed that she'd had more than Willow had of the cake. At least she'd liked it. "There is, plenty. It's nice, isn't it?"

Seriously, how could a McKinnon be so innocent and sweet? This is definitely a change, Lucy thought while she listened to Willow talk. God, she is such a sweetie, it's creepy. "I think a bib would be nice, you can wrap it up really nicely and give it to her. I think she'd like it." Probably more than she'd like condoms, though Lucy would love to see the look on the oldest McKinnon's face (and kind of the second oldest one's, too) if her innocent little baby sister gave her condoms as a present.

"How old are you again, Low?" Lucy took another bite from her cake, groaning in pleasure again. "You'll start school soon, won't ya?" she licked some chocolate off her finger, absent minded, before she continued talking, not really giving the younger girl a chance to speak. "You're like youngest, right? No wait, you're not. There's one more of you. I forgot that. God, your parents love having babies, don't they?" she took a moment to shake her head. "Well... Actually your family loves having babies, don't have babies Willow, they're creepy."

Willow smiled happily as Lucy agreed that a bib would be a good present. She trusted the older girl to know what she was talking about, at least she probably knew more about gifts than Willow did. And it was the thought that counted, right? So it didn't matter if it wasn't amazingly mindblowing, so long as it was thoughtful. Or something.

"I'm eleven," she said quietly, briefly wondering how old Lucy was. But the girl was still talking, and Willow barely had time to answer all the questions, never mind ask some of her own. She waited for the girl to finish, again on a note of babies being creepy, a small smile on her face as she spoke again. "I'm looking forward to being an aunt. I think it means Uncle James will be about more, and I like spending time with him," she flustered, but continued speaking. "Odette's younger than me by three years. What-what year are you in?" she figured it was a politer way to ask her age. "You're in William's house at school, right?"

Lucy had noticed that this wasn't really a normal McKinnon. She tended to think about the McKinnon as their own species. Maybe this McKinnon was like the fourth McKinnon - Matthew. Lucy didn't really think of Matthew as a real McKinnon, he was way too... shy... to be able to be a McKinnon. But then again, Willow seemed to be one of those shy McKinnon's too, so maybe he wasn't adopted.

"Aye, I am in the same house as your brother." she replied. Sadly. "And in his year, too! At least we have something in common!" Harhar, I'm so funny. "Anyways, so that's what you're most excited about? Having James around the house? I can understand that he's quite fit and fun to look at-" ... Right, Lucy, eleven year old in front of you. "I mean, he's quite fun."

Willow's smile widened as she guessed the house Lucy was in right, perking up more as Lucy said she was in the same year too. "Does that mean you're close?" she asked, imagining one would be close to students who were in your year and house. It seems like spending so much time with the same people would encourage you to make friends with them.

"I want to help decorate the baby's room!" Willow said, her eyes lighting up at the thought, colours and patterns and decorations running through her mind, a bright smile on her face, completely forgetting the fact she didn't know Lucy very well, and was in a cafe with other people around. "And it will be really nice to have Uncle James around the house more," her smile became more embarrassed. "He's always willing to play games with me, and he babysits me sometimes. I'm a bit worried about who's going to cook for the baby though," she admitted, lowering her voice. "Neither James or Mel really know how to cook."

Does that mean you're close? Lucy almost choked on her cake. She coughed loudly and grabbed hold of the table. "Uhm, NO!" she managed out, swallowing with great trouble. "No, we're not close. Not at all!" She really had to stop hearing everything in a perverted way, it was creeping her out. Everything was creeping her out.

"Do you like painting and decorating then?" Lucy raised her eyebrows. This McKinnon was quite strange, but Willow being excited and slightly loud made it easier for Lucy to accept her as an unadopted McKinnon; McKinnon's were often very really loud beings. "Uncle James... He's not your real uncle is he? Because that's really weird if he's been fu-making babies with Melly! I love babies." No, I don't. "Maybe you could help them cook? There must be a good cook in that family, or do you just live on take-out?"

Willow blinked in surprise as Lucy said quite firmly that she wasn't close to William. Apparently being in the same house and year did not mean you would be close. Willow decided she probably needed to leave that topic alone, not sure she wanted to make Lucy nearly choke on her food again.

"I've never really painted before," Willow admitted with a slightly sheepish smile. "But I'm really excited to try it. It looks like it'll be fun. And I like trying new things," she shook her head at the question of James being her Uncle. "No, he's not, but I've always called him Uncle James, I don't really know how it started. Oliver's a good cook though!" she said. "Odette helps him cooks sometimes, so I think she might grow up to be a good cook. Usually when I help James or Mel it still turns out bad," she grimaced as she thought about it. "I really don't know much about cooking. Are-are you a good cook?"

Lucy bit her lip, she wondered if she should say that they weren't really close but they belonged to the same friend group and therefor knew each other. She seemed to have confused the girl, which wasn't weird seeing as Lucy had almost choked on her cake. But she decided to just leave it, Willow was leaving it and so could Lucy. Hopefully. She would just have to avoid the subject of William. That would be nice.

"I'm rubbish at painting." Lucy laughed, "Seriously, I'm shit-rubbish at it. I'm okay at cooking, I guess, I make great pancakes! You and I should cook sometime, I'm sure that would come out alright." she grinned, while she tried to remember how Odette looked like. That was the really small McKinnon that she had forgotten earlier. "Odette's like really small and has brown... red... hair? Eh. And Oliver is blond, right?" He was the only McKinnon that was allowed to be quiet and not be called adopted, seeing as he was mute. But he still lived up as a McKinnon in other ways, other than Matthew, who was clearly adopted.

Willow phased the bad language from her mind, focusing on the 'rubbish' part. There were a couple of her siblings who sometimes lost control of their tongues, so she'd gotten used to pretending she didn't hear certain things. This was no different really. "Cooking's probably a better skill than painting. In convience, I mean," she added, flustering at her words. She wasn't good at phrasing things at all. "Painting's a very good skill, but you know, you kind of need to eat to survive."

"Odette's got reddish hair, yeah," Willow nodded as she thought of her little sister, and then of her mute brother. "And Oliver is blond. Oddie's quite small, but I guess that's 'cause she's so young probably. I imagine I was a lot smaller when I was her age," Willow tried to remember, but she just couldn't.

Lucy laughed. "Yeah, you were probably tiny. At least, if you ever fitted in your mum's stomach, you must've been tiny. So everyone used to be tiny, even I used to be tiny." and creepy.

They were talking about babies again, which got the girl thinking, maybe she should mess with the McKinnon's a bit. That was always fun. Just a tiny weeny bit of messing, just a little, little, little innocent messing around. And who better to help her out than the sweetest McKinnon of them all?

Lucy propped her elbows up on the table and then her head on her hands. "So, you're gonna get Mel a bib? Do you think that's going to be enough?" she eyed her purse, that was seated next to her. SHe had the perfect thing waiting to be used, in there. "We might wanna add something."

Willow tried to imagine having a baby inside of her stomach, glancing out of the window as she did so, placing a hand on her stomach. That had to be weird, having something growing inside of you. She pulled her hand off her stomach, wrapping it round the glass and holding tighter than before. She was beginning to see how the 'creepy' part came in.

All thoughts of being pregnant left her mind as Lucy asked about the bib again, suddenly doubting whether or not it was enough. It was a bit of a small present, really. And probably cheep. She hoped. "I-I guess, if I can think of something else..." she shrugged awkwardly, looking up at the girl hopefully. "Do you know what else we could give them?" she didn't know when this became a 'we' thing, but she was grateful for the help.

Lucy straightened herself up, reaching for her purse. Was she really going to do this? This was just a little sweet ten - eleven? twelve? - year old kid. Oh, but she just really wanted to mess with some McKinnons. It was a sickness really. She couldn't stop herself.

"I have something, you could give to her. Unless, you think you have enough money to buy something extra?" she opened up her purse, pulling up a box of condoms she had got the other day. She had been planning on actually using them herself, but more condoms could always be bought - and there were spells, unless you were shagging a muggle, then yes, she could buy more.

Next Lucy fished up her wand, muttering a spell under her breath, before she watched as the box wrapped itself in blue wrapping paper. "You can give this to her. And it's for James, as well." she held the present out for Willow, trying not to grin. "But it's a secret what it is. So you cant open it, okay? Do you think we should add a bow on top?"

Willow looked over the table to try see what Lucy had pulled out her purse. It was a box, that much she could gather, but she couldn't quite see what it was. Slumping back in her seat, trying not to let her disappointment show on her face, Willow waited for Lucy to hand her the box. Because it was try, she couldn't really afford something extra.

When the blue box was handed to her she gave a thankful smile, taking it and looking up at Lucy. "Mel and James, got it," her smile widened at the suggestion of a bow, nodding her head. "I think a bow would be nice. And I won't open it, I promise," she was good at keeping secrets. At least, she liked to think she was. "I don't want to ruin the pretty packaging."

Oh, she was really going to hell when she died. Oh, well, she was probably going to have fun there. Heaven seems more boring anyway.

Smiling widely at Willow, Lucy reached her wand out and made a white bow appear on top of the present. "Do you like it white? I can have it in another colour." she waved her wand slightly. "Just remember to give it to them together, they can be around other people too." Oh, please, make them be around other people. God, I'm a bitch.

It was Willow's fault really, for trusting her and for being so innocent and sweet. Innocent and sweet people should hang around other innocent and sweet people and not people that like to get them in trouble. "You're such a nice auntie, Willow." she really was, it just sucked for her that she had met some less nice people, today.

Willow smiled widely as the white bow appeared, resisting the urge to clap. She couldn't wait to do magic like that. "I think white goes well with blue. And it looks good for a baby gift, right?" she looked up at Lucy. "When they're together, got it. They usually are these days," she imagined people who were having babies together spent a lot of time together. She couldn't help but be slightly disappointed though. Even if they usually spent time together. It was different now.

Willow took a moment to absorb the compliment, feeling her cheeks heat up and a timid smile come to her face, turning her gaze back to the present in embarrassment. Though she couldn't deny being pleased. She really hoped she would be a good aunt.

"Thank you," she said quietly. "I really hope I do a good job."

And it looks good for a baby gift, right? Yeah. As good as condoms would look for a baby gift. God, it was going to be such a kick in the face. Why was she being such a bitch? Oh, right because it was way too much fun? Yes.

"I don't think I'll become an auntie in the near future, so I kind of envy you." Except I don't because babies are so fucking creepy. If Melanie's going to live in that house I'm not stepping inside of it until the baby is at least four years old. "Do you think they'll name it after any of you?"

She leaned back in her seat, staring at the rest of her cake. She really should finish it but a part of her told her she didn't deserve it anymore. Which she didn't. But still, it was a pity to waste it. "You can have more of my cake if you want, Willy. Actually, I cant call you Willy, that sounds weird and like I'm talking about your brother." Oh, I thought we were AVOIDING the subject of William? Nice one, Lucy. "What can I call you? Or do you prefer just 'Willow'?"

Willow frowned thoughtfully as she thought about whether or not the baby would be named after them, slowly shaking her head. "I doubt it," she murmured, looking up and smoothing out her features. "I think it might be strange, there are a lot of us, it would be hard to pick one of our names. And it can't really have all our names."

That would certainly be interesting to write down on a form though.

Willow had to stiffle a giggle t the nickname, though she was more than happy to have some more of the cake, feeling much more comfortable in the company of he neighbour now. "Some of my siblings call me Lowie," she suggested, figuring that was a good place to start. "I've never really considered what I prefer being called."
